Thursday the 16th of May 2024 and this is the reflection that I'm recording just after having finished my well it's not literally after having finished it this is like a day after having finished my performance at last night's open mic event hosted by JVH studios and to talk a little bit
about that experience I must admit that at the moment I'm riding a pretty high wave because it was like you know the performance went better than expected it was a very eye-opening experience I mean I've been to open
mics before and I've done a bunch of performances before and as a matter of fact like this performance specifically like you know was very very different to like my very first open mic like you know when I reflect back when I reflect back to my first Open mic I remember being very very nervous not having a lot of stage presence like literally forgetting my lyrics being completely out of sync and
You know like not really having anything like no identity to my brand or who I was and it was an experience that you know thank goodness it didn't persuade me to just quit rap altogether because I'm not you know I'm not exaggerating when I say the experience was bad enough to make me consider you know quitting altogether and this experience in particular was eye-opening
for a bunch of different reasons I'm beginning to realize slowly but surely that there is definitely a grind that needs to be undertaken in the real world as well as a grind that needs to be undertaken in the social media world in order to develop that you know that renowned status so to speak and you know open mics is definitely a brilliant way to do that to showcase one's talent and stuff like that but I've also learned a lot about myself. I genuinely believe that I do have what it takes to make a name for myself and to build a career from this.
It's just a situation that requires, you know, consistent action and I want to say definitive and deliberate action rather than effectively just going around, you know, trying to do this through a trial and error type of like basis like um with enough organization and with enough uh i want to say uh deliberate action like one can definitely make a successful like you know full-time career out of like doing music and stuff like that and uh yeah yesterday was just a very eye-opening experience um i'm very pleased with myself my performance went my performances went better than expected and I'm definitely looking forward to the next event
moving forward from here, I'm probably going to be featuring on a episode of the creative insight podcast and I'm excited to see like, you know I'm really really excited to see like, you know What I'm going to be able to deliver because I you know, I I really do believe I'm gonna deliver something electrifying So yeah, that's all that there is from me today you know until next time.
