Friday the 12th of July 2024 and today's reflection is going to be titled your number one fan. Now like last night and earlier this morning I was just kind of like looking back at some of the work that I published on YouTube looking at some of my lyric videos and just basically just
kind of like observing my content usually and again kind of like this links back to the problem of negative thinking. Usually when I'm looking back at my content, I'm always critiquing it.
I'm always not necessarily focusing on what could be better, but then also paying attention on the details that justify the reasons why I shouldn't be happy with my own content. But on this occasion, I was actually upholding my own content, being happy for the things that I've actually released and being grateful for the fact that I've gotten this far, even though it might be small progress and slow progress nevertheless, it is progress nevertheless. And it's kind of driven me to this realization that I should be my own number one fan.
As, you know, as dangerous as it may be, especially since like, you know, in hip hop and in rap culture, like, you know, it is very, very easy to fall into the trap of just basically kind of like becoming egoic and kind of like, you know, boasting about results and credibility that you are yet to establish, but you're doing it just because that's what everybody else seems to do around you, around myself. Like, you know, it is good to keep things, it is good to be confident, it is also better to be, but it is better to be confident and humble as well.
And with that kind of like balance in check, like, you know, being your number, you know, your own number one fan and just being happy for the work that you release and you create is incredibly crucial to kind of like the building of a fan base and building a community that actually recognizes you for those talents.
