Days Like These

Writer's picture: Made EzeMade Eze

Alright, Tuesday the 20th of August 2024 and the title of today's reflection is going to be Days Like These. So I was kind of like earlier on I was having a conversation with like an old friend of mine right and I think he was kind of like giving me a couple of references with how I

can add punchlines to my lyrics which I kind of like really appreciate it to be honest. This person in particular, I won't mention him by name because he likes to remain autonomous,

but he's kind of like one of the pillars to a certain extent. He was one of the people that even though I've interacted with him on a not so frequent basis, he was actually quite influential in my creative process. He effectively just kind of like motivated me to effectively push beyond my boundaries and push beyond my limitations as a writer when it comes to hip hop. But yeah, I just kind of like wanted to mention that at the same time, even though like I'm having like

a good conversation with him, I'm also finding myself overwhelmed with the amount of people that I have to collaborate with. I don't necessarily have to collaborate with, but it's just kind of like, you know, as a result of my, I want to say, networking and marketing to a certain extent, I have kind of like, you know, expanded my network a little bit. And now there's artists from, I wouldn't say all over the world, but it's artists that I'm now effectively engaging with. And now I've kind of like increased my workload as an artist and it's making me feel overwhelmed. It's very, very hard for

me to feel, you know, energized when I've got so much work to do. And it isn't easy as well. Knowing that time moves very quickly and thoughts and people's opinions and feelings move very rapidly, quickly and chaotically, especially in the music industry. I just find that days like this is very, very hard to just basically kind of like, you know, fill myself to kind of like be in good moods and good positive spirits because, you know,

I still need to go out there and find a way to earn a living until this thing, you know, until this thing that I do effectively replaces my primary income. But I'm going to head off now. I've got some things that I need to do, driving around, looking for work and hopefully I'll be able to come back and actually get work, you know, get to work on some music.
