Disregard Them All

Writer's picture: Made EzeMade Eze

Thursday the 25th of July 2024 and the title of this reflection is going to be Disregard Them All. Now there's going to be a point in your life, especially if you decide to become a popular artist or a popular rap artist, there is going to become a point in your life, as there has been a

point in my life where I've been able to distinguish the information from the people who are useful and the information from the people that are totally useless. Unfortunately, the truth as it seems, particularly from my regard, which leads me to suspect it's going to be a truth that you are likely to experience in your regard, is that everybody wants to prove themselves, whether they have solid proof or whether they are simply relying on the basis of their own opinion or their own point of view. Everybody wants to have a significant impact or influence in your life even if it means giving you baseless advice or baseless information that is totally conjured from thin air if

that makes any sense at all. I know that I might be sounding a little bit vague at the moment but I mean you know what do I mean when I say disregard them all? The thing is there is a little bit of a complicated if not kind of like complex undertaking that we need to go through as artists in order to kind of like get to the truth of what of what it means to progress in a realistic and a tangible way. One of the things that we have to

battle is our own egos. We have to basically assess our own egos to make sure that we are not tricking ourselves into believing that we are something that we're not. We all have a process that we have to go through in order to improve and in order to get better. Many of us find it difficult to venture further beyond the first step on the pure basis that we convince ourselves that we are brilliant without having undergone any sort of development or any sort of kind of like growth if that makes any sense at all. We all have a certain quality and a certain character that we want to accomplish

and sometimes the journey to accomplish that can be so treacherous that we use our egos to allow ourselves to believe that we have undergone that process, you know, before we've ever undergone it at all and this is where we find a lot of narcissists in our field, we find a lot of arrogance in our field, we find a lot of people who genuinely believe themselves to be so brilliant when from the outside looking in everybody can see how absolutely terrible and how fearful they are simply of the fact that they are not good and they haven't exercised the time required in order to kind

of like develop the skill and develop the accolades and develop the talents that they have aspired to accomplish. So we have our own egos to navigate. We also have the egos of others to navigate and this one is particularly interesting. It's interesting because, again I return back to saying, we will get to a point in which we will be able to distinguish the difference from the people whose information actually propels us and pushes us forward and the information that really and truthfully isn't useful at all and is only information that is useful to

the person who wants to, you know, kind of like establish an authority that they are making an influence in their life, whether that influence is valid or not. And you know, again, I return back to saying that, you know, we have to kind of like navigate and battle the egos of others. We have to effectively try to find a way to progress without necessarily being able to distinguish the people who are there to help us and the people who are only there to make it seem as though they are helping

us so that they can help themselves in whatever journey that they may be going through. And this kind of returns to what I was saying when I was saying disregard them all Because at some point you will be able to establish You know the distinction between the people that you need to listen to and the people that you don't necessarily have to listen to Thirdly I will say that you know doubt is one of the reasons why like you know at some point you will want to must Master the ability to disregard them all because anybody who comes in to give you information, let's say, how do you write a song or how do you promote yourself or how do you kind of like book your first show.

There are a lot of people in this industry that aren't professionals and just make themselves out to be professionals. Even your friends, somehow you will find that your friends somehow at some point will magically know more and know better than you do. You know my advice is to effectively disregard them all. Learn how to take this information in until you are able to distinguish the information that is useful and the information that is not useful to you at all. Disregard them all.
