Okay, so Tuesday the 4th of June 2024 and I just want to invest in analog hardware if I'm being honest. Now for anybody who doesn't know what I'm talking about, like whenever you're working on a piece of music and you want to get that music recorded, you're going to
go through a series of steps to get that music recorded and usually you're going to use some hardware to get that stuff recorded. Like once you've got it recorded, you then process it through a series of either digital hardware or analog hardware.
So the digital hardware is effectively like something that has been installed onto a computer device, unlike analog hardware, which is literally like a physical mechanical piece that is basically set up in your room or studio, and you use that mechanical piece to manipulate the qualities and characters of the audio recording that you've just created. So the reason why I want to invest in analog hardware is because I don't particularly think that it's going to make my music sound any better, although in theory, that is the ultimate
aim. Like, the thing about using digital hardware and digital hardware is the fact that it's all effectively installed on a computer. So you're gonna be relying very much on what you're able to see rather than relying on what you're able to hear.
The thing about kind of like analog hardware is that you're working very physically. Like you're literally twisting and turning knobs so that the sound is changing in real time, in real space, so to speak, right? And at that point, you don't have any monitors
or anything kind of like, you're not relying on anything that you're able to see you're relying on how the song is sounding and that's the reason why I really just want to go ahead and invest in analog hardware anyway because honestly like you know I thought that my mixing skills where they're at at the moment it's like I do tend to go bought more by what I see rather than going by
what I hear and it's something that I just want to do just to improve my process like I can't I can't stress that enough because at the moment I'm listening to a lot of music that's out there and it's sounding great and I know that I shouldn't be comparing but it's just one of those things where I do want my music to become better. If the experts are saying that it used to be a lot better, like when you used to be able to just manipulate music without having to rely on the screen, then there's something that I definitely want to look into.
