Every Moment Is My Tallest Peak

Writer's picture: Made EzeMade Eze

I was watching a video on YouTube yesterday that documented a performance between two artists that were battling it out. The many people that this video documented made me wonder about the multiple opportunities in which I will one day get to express myself on camera.

The truth is I love to watch videos like these because it fills me with a great sense of excitement for the moments that are yet to come. I not only hold a firm belief, but I also understand myself well enough to know that I will have a lot to say, and I also feel very confident in myself enough to know that what I will say will create a massive impact in the long run.

With that being said, in watching this video I wondered about the moment in which I will get to grace the stage, and I think about the moments in which I will make a long lasting impression on a crowd of listeners, but I also think about the moments in which I won't make an impression at all.

Strangely enough I look forward to everything.  I look forward to the mistakes as well as the moments in which I will ace my performances. Everything good or bad that happens to me along this journey is an opportunity for me to grow and learn, and to look back knowing that there was a point in which I couldn't even embark on the very first step towards my dream makes me feel superbly grateful for the chances that I will have to f**k things up.

I treat every moment like it's the highest point that I will ever reach in my career. Sometimes it's difficult to appreciate the reality that I'm not performing in front of a crowd of thousands, but the minute I am face-to-face with a microphone, and a group of people no matter how big or small, I leave nothing behind on the stage as though it will be the last time I will ever shut my eyes after falling asleep.
