After this downward slope that hit me like a tonne of bricks yesterday afternoon I’ve come to my personal and subjective conclusion that hope is the only thing that matters. Yes circumstances can gives us a realistic measure of how far a distance we may all get it reference to our ultimate goal or destination but whether we get there or not is not the point.
Some of us sign up to accomplish the absolute impossible because in our hearts it means more than what a person or universe can offer. It’s unfair to expect anybody with that kind of passion to quit on the basis of outer circumstances that they have no control or influence over.
As I write this right now I can’t really say I have the greatest prospect of gracing the mic in front of a crowd of thousands. My age in some people’s eyes is against me, I’m tied down to my duty as a father and a partner and those two roles never mix with the lifestyle of an artist, and with all of that considered I can’t argue that labels will be thirsting to sign me anytime soon or anytime at all for that fact.
However that’s not really the point. The point is that I keep trying, the point is that I never lose hope or give up on that vision that I play obsessively in my head when I get the spare time to find gratitude for how far I’ve come thus far.
To the person that really wants this, and to the person that has a very strong why for pursuing their dreams, nothing else matters but hope.
