I Can Do It

Writer's picture: Made EzeMade Eze

I was speed scribbling my way down today’s diary page when suddenly I was hit with this brain wave. It’s amazing how necessity becomes the mother of invention, and how a specific pain point can unlock the motivation required to actualise one’s truest desires.

Earlier today a conversation with a very great supporter of mine left me with a bitter sweet food for thought in my mouth. To add a bit of sense into what I’m saying there’s the types of supporters who tell you what you want to hear, and the types of supporters that tell you what you need to know.

Whilst it’s nice to be told how amazing you are at what you do, the true wealth of growth lies within the feedback that focuses on your imperfections. For the everyday left brained scientist this is a supremely easy feat, but for the tender headed artist receiving constructive criticism can be quite the emotional ordeal.

Anyway, this conversation helped me realise that having a lot of things to do, whilst it may seem natural in an entrepreneurial setting to the untrained eye, is actually a sign of an unfocused and disorganised mind more than proof of any actual entrepreneurship.

Nevertheless, I’ve come to terms with the reality that perhaps I’m spreading myself too thin, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I have to cut down on the tasks that’s I really want to pursue. If I can sit down and map out precisely when and where I have the time to focus on what’s important to me, I will surprise myself with how much I can actually do in a day.
