Friday the 16th of August 2024 and the title of today's reflection is going to be image in my mind. Now like you know the reason why I wanted to title this reflection this way is because I wanted to just basically talk about something that I personally believe and think we all just
basically go through as artists. So effectively the music industry whether it's a kind of like a studio down the road from where you live or the laptop that you work on or maybe this big massive million dollar, three million pound studio in Abbey Road, wherever you want to call it, effectively offers a range of infinite possibilities. The only issue and the only challenge with that is that those possibilities are pursued and desired by thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people. And therefore the time and I guess the money available to kind of like pursue those kind of like sites,
those opportunities is quite limited. And I find it interesting that many of us as artists kind of like struggle to navigate between the outcomes that we basically kind of like want to achieve and the outcomes that reality can offer, if that makes sense.
So in other words, there's like a gap between the outcomes that we want to achieve and the best outcomes that reality can actually offer. So like, for example, like, you know, when I went to the studio yesterday, in the back of my mind, I wanted to get a very specific song out into the universe. I wanted to guess I wanted to basically kind of like I want to say I wanted to kick start the process for releasing this brilliant song that has been sitting in my phone for goodness knows how long. I wanted to get that out. However, due to complications and due to things that were out of my control, that wasn't
able to happen. So, I then decided that I wanted another outcome when I realized that. Even that outcome in itself wasn't possible because when I looked at the studio, when I looked at the time, and when I looked at the people that were there, there were many to I'd probably wanted to stay there longer.
And it's just like, effectively what I'm trying to say is that we do all have an image in our own minds of how we want our day to turn out, how we want our music to turn out, how we want our dreams to effectively manifest. And those images are effectively kind of like,
they can be effectively developed within an instant within our own mind. There's no limitation in our own mind. I can close my eyes right now and literally picture a rocket flying into the other side of the galaxy in 2.4 seconds because that is what my mind can do. Like there is no limitations within the confinements of my own mind. However, like when you then try to take that image and you try to apply that into reality, you start to realize that there is only so much that reality can offer and sometimes you just have to marry up our desires and our expectations with that notion.
