It's really annoying to say this, but I've got a meeting in less than an hour and I still need to get through a couple of my reflections. At the same time I'm opening myself up to a positive outcome, and I'm looking forward to bringing my ideas together into real life.
Communicating things across to a collaborator is not always easy, but for the longest time I've been trying to stress that in today's day and age releasing music is not going to be as simple as uploading or wav files to Spotify.
I say this because if 1000 people haven't said this before me already (and I’m pretty sure they have), there is evidence out there that suggests music is uploaded onto Spotify anywhere between 60 to 120,000 times a day: we're simply not the only people trying to become successful from this career.
For the longest time I've been stressing and saying both to my collaborators and myself, what is it that we can do differently to everybody else that will allow us to stand out in our own field?
What I'm saying is I'm looking forward to the things that we should be able to my pal after this meeting. I want to add consistent value to each and every single one of our releases, I'm looking forward to communicating about my ideas for creating a package that will include our song as well as our lyrics, the meaning of the context behind our lyrics, the cover art, a possible lyric video to go with it and pretty much anything else that can be accomplished within reason.
I want to dominate at least one field of this massive industry, and I can't wait to show the world what I've got.
