Tuesday the 16th of July 2024 and the title of this reflection is going to be my place in this universe. So my experience in the last two weeks working the jobs that I've been working and seeing the you know the labors that I've been seeing has kind of like led me to realize
that like you know our So, our position as musicians and our positions as artists, specifically pop artists and rap artists is very unique in this universe. One of the typical characteristics and traits that we hold is kind of like this inability to actually gauge the realistic position that we are actually in and that what do I mean by position. I'm actually talking about like, you know, where I'm not just talking about where our place is in this society, but how valuable we actually are in this society. Like we do not have an ability to gauge, you know, where you know how valuable we actually are purely on the basis of how unchecked our
ego is and how narcissistic many of us actually tend to be. It's like, you know, I, you know, I often fear that being an artist or venturing in that sort of avenue is also this secret inability to actually grow up and basically effectively assimilate with the reality of the real world. I know I'm sounding a little bit vague here, but it's kind of like I'm going out and I'm effectively seeing people working on the street.
So street sweepers, builders, laborers, different businesses that are responsible for different things like lights, electricity, gas, plumbing. My inexperience and my kind of like lack of, my ignorance in this avenue has kind of led me to realize that whilst we sit here in our studios writing
songs and trying to make people feel better or whatever it is, we really don't know just how unimportant we actually can be in the grandest scheme of things. Because if it wasn't for any of these people, we wouldn't even have the ability, we would be out on the street no water, no gas, no electricity. And so, yeah, like, that's basically my reflections for today.
