The Jokes On Who?

Writer's picture: Made EzeMade Eze

Okay, so Friday the 30th of August 2024 and the title of today's reflection is going to be the jokes on who. So like, you know, I reflect back to like the days where I used to be borderline antagonized for always being on my video games. Like again, I always had like, I guess, I

guess in a way, when it comes to everybody who comes into this world, when we all effectively grow through life, as kids, we all eventually pick up something, anything, whatever it is,

to effectively entertain our young minds throughout our growth. Whenever we're not at school, whenever our parents don't have the energy for us, or whatever it is, or maybe our siblings are away, like there is always something that we find that effectively takes up majority of our time for majority of our childhood.

And my thing was video games. I remember being like, you know, borderline antagonized, not just by my parents, but sometimes my friends, sometimes my other relatives and distant relatives, like, you know, for effectively spending so much time on these video games.

And, you know, I compare that moment to now, which is quite interesting because I'm finding myself effectively doing very repetitive and doing very monotonous and doing very remedial tasks over and over and over and over and over again without even getting bored at the slightest chance. I was playing one of the games that I used to play when I was much younger.

I was basically doing a circuit on a race and I was going around this race and I was doing the same race again and again and again and again and again and again Like I used to like honestly like you know at some point my wife just basically looked at me and said like do you not get bored or do you not get tired of doing these races and If I'm being honest like the answer to that question is no Maybe I've conditioned myself throughout the years of playing these video games,

but if there's anything that now gives me the strength to effectively tackle anything is that I now have this weird ability of doing the same thing again and again and again and again and again and again without getting bored. So who's the joke on really?

When you kind of think about it, who's really the person that's missing now? Like I played a lot of games when I was young, okay? That might have seemed like a complete and total waste of time but now the average person like who now wants to keep up with me like when it comes to kind of like repeating a monotonous task a monotonous task which by the way could be

as simple as like you know going through a hundred Instagram accounts and liking everybody's stories like you know somebody will be able to struggle to keep up with me, like they would get bored, lose focus, attention or whatever it is and I'll just keep on going. I just, really and truthfully it does pose the question like who's the joke on really?
