Monday 12th August 2024 Inspired to Write Right before me I've got a quote from this popular Instagram account called Inspired to Write. The quote reads the following, This is your reminder to promote creations for years after the launch. creations for years after the launch.
They deserve more than a few weeks in the sun. my friend called me to effectively tell me about how this artist, despite the fact that he had been established for a very long time, still goes through the effort of engaging with as many fans as possible, if not all the fans that he has available to him. I wanted to bring these references up because this is effectively the right idea. I know that kind of like in the beginning when you're starting out as an artist and you want to kind of like build a community for yourself, you want to build a name for yourself, like, you know, you want to, you know, kind of like build a career and you don't know kind of like what you're doing. You're in this position where you are effectively making it up as they go along, not realizing just how much work that they have to put in.
Like it's very easy in this sort of like game to create a rod for your own back, i.e. it's very easy to effectively, it's very, very easy to put yourself in a position where you're not working enough and you're not doing enough and it's also very easy to put yourself in a position where you're doing too much purely because the whole road and the pathway to success for a start is
unique to each and every single one of us. Success means something different to each and every single one of us. We all want different things from life especially as artists. Yes, all of us want a certain degree of fame and definitely there's kind of like a similarity across all of our goals. We all want to become famous, we all want to become famous but I guess we all want to become famous in a different way like this you know we want
to become famous for different things and like our pathway to becoming famous or to achieving that fame is different I guess and that's the whole reason why it's very easy for us to put ourselves in a position where we're not working enough because we're kind of scared, we're anxious, we don't know what we're doing and therefore we kind of like don't do anything at all or do very little. Or we put ourselves in a position where we kind of like, I don't know, we're kind of like misguided and therefore we're doing too
much as in a sense of like we're doing a lot of work but we're doing a lot of the wrong work, work that isn't kind of like going to get us anywhere. But it is literally that simple. On one hand, going back to that first quote, yes, there are many occasions where we as artists, we release a song and especially us artists that are just starting out, we put out songs and we basically share them on we Put out songs and we basically share them on our Instagram kind of like story once or twice
And then you know we never ever go back to that song ever again like we don't even promote it and get surprised That we you know that the song is made very little traction and nobody knows the song or whatever it is That's definitely an instance where like you know we're not doing anything at all Because we don't know what we're doing or we don't trust in the process that we have kind of like created for ourselves. And like yeah, I feel like it's important for us to just basically understand that there is a definitely a certain degree of work to be
done. It is a lot of work but it has to be the right work otherwise we're just effectively wasting our time.
